Things to consider for planning and doing great electronic, hardware based jam sessions in small and big groups.

Note: It's possible that most of the stuff (Lighting, Instruments for the jam stations) sent to the venue will be missing due to shipping problems; stay tuned!

How are chords built, and how can we develop some intuition about which chords might work well next to each other? This is an introduction to harmony from the dual perspectives of the Western European tradition of jazz, aimed at people whose comfort zone is more in the production of electronic music.

Developing visuals that react to your music in real-time, using TouchDesigner. Will cover basic development of generative art, and how to make it listen and react to to your music. Basic TouchDesigner or programming experience is useful, but not mandatory.

I've been inspired by Synthwave and retro sounds for many years, and with the surge in popularity of Stranger Things, this sound is back in the mainstream once again. I'll share a few of my favorite patches and some general approaches I use when going for THAT sound.

By exploring the connection between vocals, breath and body, we'll tap into alternative techniques from different genres (e.g. vocal fry, story telling, shouting, whispers, breath) and put them into the context of our own music. The goal is to experiment with our vocals to broaden the way we use our voices, explore expression and become confident within our performance.

[Intermediate Level] Small performance and walkthrough of how I set up my live set and how the Mimu Glove works.

Create visual ideas and images based on your artist persona, purpose and music. The outcome will be fun, visual sketches of your potential album cover.

Participants should bring pencils, pens and paper!

I'll share some insights on how to survive (or not survive :) ) as an indie band in the German music industry while working with a label, publisher and management. I will talk about experiences with my former band CHILDREN with whom we played a couple of festivals (Fusion, Appletree, Reeperbahn Festival), shot a couple of music videos, and released 2 albums on Grönland Records (label of famous German artist Herber Grönemeyer). I'm happy to answer any question regarding business decisions, funding opportunities and long term perspectives in the business.

I'm already sad writing this! Let's put our creativity, inspiration, (new) skills and good moods together to make this a night to remember.

This session will have two parts of one hour each:

1. A workshop to introduce total newbies to the basics of modular synths. Topics include manual control, voltage control, modulation, audio-rate vs subaudio-rate signals, and more.

2. [Intermediate Level] A workshop for putting the core concepts of modular synthesis in use in Ableton without breaking the bank. The workshop will focus on using only the built-in Ableton devices so that once you have a Live Suite license, you don't need to spend any more money to get similar effects as with a full modular.

In this sample-based music-making challenge, everyone will be given a sample pack and 2 hours to make a new piece of music of 2 minutes or less. We’ll then have a celebratory listening session to hear what everyone made!

You only need a DAW or hardware capable of working with samples to participate.

Deep listening visual creative expression, or how to bring soundwaves, feelings and colors together onto paper.

We’ll make self-made Digital Art react to MIDI signals in real-time. The same art will react to any sound via OSC Messages & Max for Live.

We'll showcase a few of our artists' live setups, chat studio-to-stage workflow, tools, and performance techniques, then field any questions you might have.

I'm a lifelong procrastinator and have always struggled to establish routines and productive habits. Over the past few years I've worked with a number of music production courses, performance psychologists, and prolific producers to level up my approach to music making. This session will be a distillation of the core ideas and key insights that I've gained to unlock creativity and build a habit of music creation. It's especially for anyone who has wanted to work with expensive coaches/production courses but isn't sure if it's for them and would like to find out more about what the actual experience is like.

What is it, who's it for, and when is the right time? How to get a steady income by letting your audience support you.

In this active listening session, each participant will have the chance to have one track of their choice listened to and commented on by the other participants. The pieces of music will be collected in advance and randomized to keep the submitter anonymous. 12 people - first come, first served! Theme is: circle.
